THE BEAUTY OF NATURE, PEOPLE AND CULTURES.

I was born in Israel from parents who immigrated to Israel in 1947 from Romania. They worked very hard to support their 3 daughters and to make sure they will get the best education. I served in the army as most of the Israelis and studied biology at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. I received my Ph.D. in 1984.
I am a plant ecologist and expert on ecosystem dynamics under stresses and disturbances.
I am currently a Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Development at Ben-Gurion University (BGU) of the Negev. Within the Department of Geography and Environmental Development I have served as the chairwoman of the department since October 2010 as the Director of the Geo-Ecology laboratory. Positions that I hold outside of the university include serving as chairwoman of the Israeli Society of Ecology & Environmental Sciences, the academic representative on the National Committee for Nature and National Parks Conservation and Planning (appointed by the Ministry for Environmental Protection), a member of the Steering Committee responsible for the design of a national plan in Israel for biodiversity monitoring (appointed by the Israel LTER (Long Term Ecological Research Network) and the Ministry for Environmental Protection) and as principal scientist of the LTER Nizzanim coastal sand dunes Nature Reserve site at the southern part of the Israeli Mediterranean coast.
I have 3 adult and great children and one grandchild who is 10 months old. My oldest son, Gilad, is a computer engineer married to Talia, who will be a medicine doctor in the very near future. My second son is a very well known musician known as Kutiman, and my younger daughter, Efrat, is talented, quiet, lovely and searching for her way of life.
I am travelling a lot and wish to travel even more. I am photographing while travel focusing on landscapes, people, cultures and macro.
LA BELLEZA DE LA NATURALEZA, LA GENTE Y LAS CULTURAS.

Nací en Israel de padres que inmigraron a Israel en 1947 de Rumania. Trabajaron muy duro para mantener a sus 3 hijas y para asegurarse de que recibiramos la mejor educación y las mejores escuelas. Serví en el ejército como la mayoría de los israelíes, y estudié biología en la Universidad Hebrea de Jerusalén. Recibí mi doctorado en el año 1984 .Soy ecólogo de vegetales y experto en dinámica de los ecosistemas bajo tensiones y disturbios.
Actualmente soy profesor en el Departamento de Geografía y Desarrollo del Medio Ambiente de la Universidad Ben- Gurion ( BGU ) del Negev. Dentro del Departamento de Geografía y Desarrollo Ambiental, sirvo como la presidenta del departamento desde octubre de 2010 y como Director del Laboratorio Geo- Ecología. Posiciones que tengo fuera de la universidad incluyen servir como presidenta de la Sociedad Israelí de Ecología y Ciencias del Medio Ambiente, representante académico en el Comité Nacional para la Naturaleza y Conservación y planeación de Parques Nacionales (nombrado por el Ministerio de Protección del Medio Ambiente ), soy miembro del Comité de Dirección responsable del diseño de un plan nacional en Israel para el monitoreo de la biodiversidad (nombrado por el Israel LTER (Red de Investigación Ecológica a Largo Plazo) y el Ministerio de Protección del Medio Ambiente), y como científico principal de la LTER Nizzanim dunas de arena costera, reserva natural en la parte sur de la costa mediterránea de Israel.
Tengo 3 hijos adultos grandiosos y un nieto de 10 meses. Mi hijo mayor, Gilad, es ingeniero en computación, casado con Talia, que será Doctor en Medicina en un futuro muy próximo. Mi segundo hijo es un músico muy conocido, trabaja bajo el nombre de Kutiman, y la más joven, mi hija Efrat, es talentosa, encantadora y tranquila, ella aún está en la busqueda de su camino en la vida.
Viajo mucho y deseo viajar aún más. Fotografio durante el viaje, centrandome en los paisajes, la gente, las culturas y la fotografía macro.

קצת מידע על עצמי נולדתי בישראל להורים שהיגרו בשנת 1947 מרומניה. הם עבדו קשה מאוד לתמוך בשלושת בנותיהם ולוודא שיקבלו את החינוך הטוב ביותר. שירתתי בצבא ההגנה לישראל כמו שאר הישראלים, ולמדתי ביולוגיה באוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים. קיבלתי Ph.D. בשנת 1984. אני אקולוגית בוטנית ומומחית במערכות אקולוגיות דינמיות תחת לחץ והפרעות.
אני כרגע פרופסור במחלקה לגאוגרפיה ופיתוח סביבתי באוניברסיטת בן גוריון בנגב. במחלקת גאוגרפיה ותכנון סביבתי, אני משמשת כיושבת ראש המחלקה מאוקטובר 2010, ומנהלת המחלקה לגאו-אקולוגיה. תפקידי מחוץ לאוניברסיטה כוללים יושבת ראש האגודה הישראלית לאקולוגיה ומדעי הסביבה, נציגה האקדמית ברשות הטבע והגנים במינוי השר לאיכות הסביבה, חברת הוועדה האחראית על התכנון הלאומי של ישראל למעקב אחרי המגוון הביולוגי (ממונה על ידי הארגון לחקר האקולוגיה לטווח ארוך) והמשרד לאיכות הסביבה, והמדענית הראשית של הארגון לחקר האקולוגיה לטווח ארוך בשמורת חולות ניצנים, שבחלק הדרומי ברצועת הים התיכון בישראל.
יש לי שלושה ילדים מבוגרים ונהדרים ונכד אחד בן 10 חודשים. בני הבכור, גלעד, הוא מהנדס מחשבים, נשוי לטליה, אשר תהיה דוקטור לרפואה בעתיד הקרוב מאוד. בני השני הוא מוסיקאי הידוע בשם "קוטימן", וביתי הצעירה אפרת, היא מוכשרת, ונפלאה, ומחפשת את דרכה בחיים.
אני מטיילת הרבה ומכווה לטייל אפילו עוד. אני מצלמת במהלך הטיולים ומתמקדת בנופים, אנשים, תרבויות, ובצילומי מקרו.
